Hypnosis is the harnessing of a natural phenomenon, namely that during everyday states of relaxation and inward focus, when conscious awareness is less active, the unconscious seems to be able to accept suggestions for change.
Most people find the state of hypnosis pleasant and deeply relaxing.
What Hypnosis Isn’t
Hypnosis is not a magical cure or an alternative to medical intervention.
Hypnosis is not sleep, but a natural state of focussed attention. You will have experienced something similar when your attention is absorbed, for example, when driving or watching TV. In other words, hypnosis is something that you have already experienced.
Hypnosis is not about the practitioner controlling the client. You will be in control of the experience at all times.
